Artist about His Art As a representational artist, I work in the traditions of the 19th century Classical Romantic period. Although primarily a studio painter, I do gather as much information as possible directly from nature. My subject matter ranges from figurative and portraiture to landscape. By combining these elements, I am often able to introduce historical and mythological themes to my paintings. Mythology, as well as art, is an important part of every generation. I believe that myths connect us with the world that exists beyond what we can see and touch. This is best expressed by the late and distinguished author and teacher, Joseph Campbell, who said, "Myth helps you to put your mind in touch with this experience of being alive".
